John Westerby
Who is Sports Writer John Westerby?
John Westerby has been a sports writer for The Times since 2003. He has worked on World Cups in
rugby union, cricket and rugby league, British & Irish Lions tours and Ashes series, as well as the Olympics and Paralympic Games, the Ryder Cup and Open Championships in golf, cycling World Championships on track and road, and grand slam tennis championships.
Born and raised in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, he grew up playing and watching rugby, cricket, football and any other sport he could find. He lives near Manchester with his wife, Sally, and their children, Will, Sam and Alice, and now enjoys watching their sporting endeavours from the sidelines.
